At Ease

So, I have a great guy and future-mother-in-law cause everything has come together for this wedding in like the last week. All that's left to do is make name cards and table cards and buy the guest sign and crap like that. Which, my maid of honor and I will handle next weekend.

We have food, photographer, DJ, clothes, venue, cake and flowers. Its done. Our wedding cost a grand total of $6,000. I think that's damn good. He may not think so but I do. Average wedding is like $35,000. SO, I'd say, comparatively, our wedding is pretty cheap.

I will post all info for vendors in case anyone is interested! Sometime soon.

My March Music

Man (Well, Bridesmaid) Down!

So, my BEfinF, who was scheduled to be a bridesmaid in my wedding has just notified me that she can not make it. That sucks! I love her dumbass and she is my best friend. I settle for her not being my maid of honor since she lives in freakin' Idaho. But now she won't be able to make the trip at all. To make it worse, she already bought the dress and plane ticket.

She's on notice - she better send me the best ducking present ever.

On a lighter note, my fiance has just let me know that catering and photographer is set! (My future mom apparently works miracles and I owe her bigtime.)

The girls and I are all over the itty-bitty details. Only thing left now is to take care of the music!

Almost there!

Wedding Dress Alterations

Well the shopphing process was dark and depressing but the alterations phase was much better.

I found Renee, of In Stitches, on Yelp. She's awesome! She's resonably priced! She's funny, light hearted and accomadating. She's pretty honest too.

For bustle, sides taken in, extra bra support, a custom sash, straps shortened, and press....GRAND PRICE $200.

David's Bridal tried to charge me $400!

Check her out and her reviews!

Great Deals

Wedding Bands! Engagement Rings! etc.

If your mate isn't too picky, or you won't beable to afford the good stuff until like your 5th anniversary, then a good place to start the shopping process for a temporary fix is OVERSTOCK.COM.

I found great jewlwery peices with fantastic warranties. I got Brandon's ring (10K white gold, two tone silver finish, and an itty bitty diamond) for a STEAL. Thats all I'm saying on that!

Change in Ceremony Plans

So, we have decided that we are no longer going to jump the broom. Just thought I'd post this since the invitations and save-the-dates all said we were. A heads up, in case anyone was expecting a broom jumping ceremony. Also, there will be no libation.

Marry...Christmas!

Ahhhhh, the sweet smell of nature blooming after a heavy rain. It's one of my favorite smells on earth, and since I live in Southern California, not one I get to enjoy nearly enough. It reminds me of the holidays...at least, what I can recall about the Holidays. Cold winter nights spent outside on a patio or in the car listening to the rain fall with a cigar in my right hand, while my left is occupied with the warm hand of my woman - ahhhh, just great memories. Makes me wish that drive-thru movie theaters had a comeback.

Why is this relevant, you ask? Well, if you shut up and stopped asking questions I'd be able to tell you, but instead, I'm wasting time talking to you about it. Jeez. So impatient.

Anyway, as I was saying, this winter (Dec 16th to be exact) will mark a new chapter in my life. While all the thunder and lighting crashed around LA this weekend, it sparked a realization -this Christmas will be the first Christmas, with my WIFE. Crazy, right? Sure it's obvious, but I honestly never thought about it. Most people I know (who celebrate the pagan holiday) had to wait nearly a year to celebrate X-Mas with their new spouse, I'll be able to do it before my honeymoon period is over. That's pretty cool.

I'll be able to snuggle (ugh - hate that word) up next to my WIFE and listen to the rain fall, and can then promptly request the newly christened Mrs. Church to make me a delicious cup of hot coco, and make sure she doesn't forget a healthy amount of Cinnamon and sugar on top of the slowly melting marshmallows. While she's at it, she should go to the store and get me some of those cookies I like, ya know the ones with the walnuts and chocolate chips, and bake them up for me. I gotta tell ya', those things are delicious. But cookies don't really make a meal, huh? I should probably have her grab some other things for dinner too, since she's already gonna be at the store, maybe some steak and potatoes. Gotta have beer with that too and....and....oh, wait, you're still here aren't you? Crap. I was just saying what all men think...I mean, you should have heard what some of the stuff my friends told me when they got married. Ha Ha Ha! Funny stories! Ha...uh, I mean, ahem.........marriage is awesome, and it's an honor to be in the presence of such beauty. Let's have a round of applause for all the lovely ladies! Yayyy! Go Wives! Eh, that work? No? Oh........well....OMG! LOOK, A NINJA!

**Running away**

Making MOVES!

Hello world! Welcome to our wedding blog, and my first (albeit awesome) post. So, I know that my supposed "better half" has already mentioned that we don't have a lot of things worked out, but you know...I really don't see it that way. We've gotten a lot done, and this wedding is shaping up to be...if I may so so myself...pretty f'n awesome.

I mean look at the checklist: Venue? Check. Cake? Check. Floral Arrangements? Check. Dress? Check. Date? Check. Music? Check

You see the pattern? Sure, at the moment we are still working out the final details on catering, photography and booze (!!) but I am confident those will all be worked out in the next few weeks. If you listen to the woman I'm marrying, you'd think we needed to relay on Divine intervention to complete our day of matrimony. No, no, no...things are getting done and as the day draws near, I have to admit, I'm getting a bit more excited. (Don't tell the misses)

I'm getting married. That's insane. I've had a lot of friends and family members fall in love, get married, and in some cases, get divorced. I've seen people get married just so they could have sex with a clear conscience, or because a baby is on the way. Humans tie the knot for the wrong reasons all the time, and I can honestly say I'm blessed to have found a woman whom I can spend my life with for the simplest reason - because I love her. That's it. No citizenship scam or pressure from the in-laws for knocking up their precious angel. Nope; I'm doing it cause I want to. That's a great feeling.

Ugh, sorry about that. I have a mushy moment quota to fill each month, and since this month is almost over, this seemed like the correct venue to get that out. I doubt any guys are going to read this anyway. I predict a massive amount of female viewers and mayne 2 guys - and those guys are Gay. Yeah, I'm talking to you sparkle.

Alright, time to head out. I actually have work to do. Now, if you don't mind, I'd like to conclude this post with a completely irrelevant joke I heard earlier:

Q: How do you know when it's raining Cats & Dogs?
A: When you step in a poodle.

That's good stuff.

Never on Schedule, But Always on Time

So I built this blog a long while ago and am just now posting something to it.

It has been a rough road to jumping to broom. We've made some decisions but still have many bugs to work out.

There are less than 90 days until we jump the broom.

So far, I've purchased my dress, bridesmaids have their dresses, we have the venue, cake and flowers.

Everything else eludes us still.

There are a few unique things we have decided to do but we'll save those as a surprise for our friends and family.

Most of the difficulty has been financial, of course, and Brandon and I trying to compromise of details that represent the both of us.

Anyway, I'll post more soon - idea boards, stories, and sample. Stay tuned!
